Commercial Vehicles are NOT permitted on the Natchez Trace Parkway. If stopped, commercial vehicles may be impounded.
0700 AM to 0400 PM CST, Monday thru Friday (30 minute break occurs at noon).
All drivers must check-in at the scale house by 3 PM with a valid pickup destination and pickup number on arrival. There is no guarantee drivers who check in after 3 PM will be loaded same day on high traffic days.
All loading is on first come, first served basis. No scheduling is required.
Trucks with arrival times outside of loading hours are encouraged to stay offsite. We have very limited room for excess trucks and limited amenities. Fuel is not readily available in the Weir, MS area. Please plan accordingly.
You do NOT need to call and notify us prior to arrival.
All visitors are required to wear PPE when outside truck: hi-visibility top, long pants, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and a hard hat. Remain clear of front end loader when loading. If you have passengers (human or critters), they need to remain in the truck. Do not roam around the yard.
All loads require dunnage. Minimum 2 sets of minimum 4x4 crossouts will be required. We do not have dunnage for purchase. Do not wander around the yard looking for dunnage.
We only have staff proficient in English.
All visitors must check-in at the office upon arrival. The shipping clerk will need load information to check-in. If you do not have the proper information, you will need to contact your dispatch or load originator before you can be checked-in. Once successfully checked in, drivers will be issued a load verification sheet and given directions for loading. Drivers will need to return the load verification sheet to scale out once loaded. You will need the following information when you check-in (if driver does not speak English, please provide this pre-written):
Our Weir site has limited mobile network carrier coverage. AT&T based carriers will work. All others generally will not work. Please download shipping orders prior to arrival.
A port-a-potty is available.
Please take caution to stay on the scales. Do not drive off the side of scales. If your truck runs off the side of scales, we may require you to hire a wrecker for removal. You may be held responsible for losses as a result of scale outage including but not limited to repairs to scales and delay fees for all delayed trucks onsite. We may assist in removing your trucks from scales. A liability waiver for damage to your truck must be first signed and a $500 fee will be charged for removal of truck from scale.
Most loads do not load to quantity, but to maximum weight capacity. All trucks may be loaded to 80,000 lb limit. If load scales out at 76,500 lb or less, we will add another unit. If driver needs fuel, 500 lbs may be allotted. If you strap down prior to scaling out, you may have to unstrap to adjust product quantity. Products can be shifted on stepdeck and spread axle trailers to correct axle weight. Do not adjust axles on scales. This will damage scales.
Please ensure your load is properly secured and perform required safety checklists prior to leaving our facility. The office has limited supplies, but we do try to keep tie down supplies (at a premium price...).
